Meaning/Usage: To ask what is happening

Explanation: This is fairly straightforward and is used more in spoken English.

"What's going on tonight?"
"I'm not sure why she is upset, what's going on?"
"What's going on with your job?"

A.  "It seems like she is a bit upset."
B.  "What's going on?"
A.  "I think she got into an argument with her husband."
B.  "That's too bad.  Hopefully they can work things out."
